The Mommy Makeover
Pregnancy and breastfeeding change the body in ways diet and exercise cannot reverse. Stretched abdominal skin, separated muscles, and deflated breast volume are structural changes, not fitness problems. A mommy makeover combines the procedures you need into one surgery, one anesthesia, and one recovery.
One plan, designed around your body.
There is no fixed mommy makeover. Yours is built from the procedures that address what pregnancy actually changed for you. Most patients combine two or three of the following, performed together in a single operation.
Tummy tuck
Removes stretched excess skin, repairs separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti), and restores a flat, firm midsection. The single most requested component of the makeover, and the one exercise can never replicate.
Breast lift, augmentation, or reduction
Pregnancy and nursing often leave breasts deflated, sagging, or both. A lift restores position, an augmentation restores volume, and a reduction relieves the weight and back strain of breasts that stayed larger after pregnancy. Your surgeon will recommend the right approach, or combination, for your anatomy.
Liposuction
Targets stubborn fat deposits on the flanks, hips, back, or thighs that resist diet and exercise. Performed alongside the tummy tuck to sculpt the waistline and complete the contour.
What happens during a mommy makeover.
Your surgery is performed under general anesthesia at our AAAASF-accredited facility in Torrance and takes three to five hours depending on the combination of procedures. Combining procedures into one operation means one anesthesia event, one recovery period, and one time away from work and family instead of two or three.
During your consultation, your surgeon will examine your abdomen, breasts, and areas of concern, then design the exact combination and sequence that gives you the safest surgery and the most natural result.
Consultation and planning
Your surgeon evaluates what pregnancy changed, discusses your goals, and builds a customized surgical plan. You receive a full itemized quote with no hidden fees.
One anesthesia
General anesthesia is administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist. All procedures are completed in a single session while you are completely comfortable.
Combined procedures
Muscle repair, skin removal, breast reshaping, and liposuction are performed in a carefully planned sequence to shape the abdomen, breasts, and waistline together.
Closure and recovery
Incisions are closed, compression garments are fitted, and you go home the same day or after overnight observation with detailed aftercare instructions.

Recovering while raising kids is the hard part.
We will not pretend otherwise. For the first week, you cannot lift your children, and you will need another adult at home. For four to six weeks, lifting anything heavier than a newborn is off limits, and that includes toddlers who want to be carried. This is the real cost of the surgery, and planning for it is what separates a smooth recovery from a stressful one.
At your consultation we will map your recovery against your actual life: your children's ages, your support at home, and your work. We would rather you go in with a realistic plan than a pleasant surprise-free brochure. And yes, there are scars. The tummy tuck scar runs low across the hips where underwear and swimwear hide it, and it fades significantly over 12 to 18 months. All Adonis patients receive exclusive pricing on scar treatment procedures for 12 months following surgery.
What to expect after surgery.
Recovery from a combined procedure is longer than from a single one, but you only go through it once. Here is the honest timeline.
Rest and help at home
Swelling and tightness are normal. Walk gently around the house, sleep slightly reclined, and let someone else handle the kids and the household.
Back to desk work
Most patients return to sedentary work within two to three weeks. Compression garments continue supporting the new contour.
Light activity resumes
Walking and light daily activity are fine. No heavy lifting, no carrying toddlers, and no workouts until your surgeon clears you.
Full results visible
Swelling fully resolves and the final contour becomes clear. Scars continue to flatten and fade over the following months.
Pricing and financing.
Mommy makeover pricing depends on which procedures you combine and your individual anatomy. Combining procedures into one surgery costs meaningfully less than staging them separately, because you pay for anesthesia and the facility once. We provide a full itemized quote at your consultation with no hidden fees.

When is the right time for a mommy makeover?
The general guidance is to be done having children, at least six months past your last pregnancy, at least three to six months past breastfeeding, and at or near a stable weight. Future pregnancies will not be dangerous after a makeover, but they can undo the results, particularly the muscle repair. Your consultation will confirm your individual timing.
Which procedures can be included?
The core combination is a tummy tuck, a breast lift or augmentation, and liposuction. Depending on your goals, the plan can also include breast reduction, labiaplasty, a Brazilian butt lift, or arm and thigh contouring after major weight loss. Your surgeon will recommend the combination that can be performed safely in a single session.
Is it safe to combine procedures in one surgery?
Yes, for properly selected patients. Combined procedures are performed every day at accredited surgical facilities. At Adonis, your surgery takes place in an AAAASF-accredited operating room with a board-certified anesthesiologist, and your surgeon limits the total operating time to what is safe for your health profile. If your plan is too extensive for one session, we will tell you and stage it properly.
What will the scars look like?
The tummy tuck scar runs horizontally low across the hips, positioned to be hidden by underwear and swimwear. Breast lift scars are typically around the areola and vertically beneath it. All scars are pink and slightly raised in the early months, then flatten and fade over 12 to 18 months. Adonis patients receive exclusive pricing on scar treatment procedures for 12 months following surgery through a trusted provider in Torrance.
How long until I can lift my children?
No lifting anything over about ten pounds for the first two weeks, which includes infants in car seats. Most patients are cleared to lift toddlers between four and six weeks, once the muscle repair has healed enough to bear the strain. Plan for a second adult at home for at least the first week, and ideally two.
Is a mommy makeover covered by insurance?
Mommy makeover procedures are considered cosmetic and are not covered by insurance in most cases. Rare exceptions exist, such as breast reduction for documented back pain or skin removal causing recurring rashes or infections. Our team can advise you on this during your consultation.
