Cosmetic Surgery OR Nursing
Clinical Immersion
Level 1
Four-Week Perioperative Experience for Registered Nurses
Learning cosmetic surgery nursing is different when you experience the complete surgical process in a working plastic surgery practice.
Follow experienced clinical professionals through surgery, documentation, recovery, and postoperative care in a four-week observational training experience.
Active RN license required · Small enrollment · No traditional classroom lectures
Real roles. Real workflow.
Real clinical context.
Learn alongside the person responsible for each part of the patient's care, from preoperative preparation to postoperative follow-up.
Experience the complete surgical process.
The Cosmetic Surgery OR Nursing Clinical Immersion – Level 1 is designed for registered nurses who want direct exposure to the day-to-day realities of perioperative nursing in cosmetic plastic surgery.
Instead of traditional classroom lectures, participants learn through supervised observation, discussion, and real clinical encounters alongside experienced members of the surgical team.
It is to understand how a cosmetic surgery team prepares, communicates, documents, anticipates needs, maintains safety, and moves a patient through the operative process.
Inside the OR.
Alongside the recovery team.
Over approximately four weeks, experience four live cosmetic surgery cases and eight real postoperative follow-up encounters.
Live Cosmetic Surgery Cases
Be present during four actual surgical cases and observe the operating room workflow from preparation through surgery and immediate postoperative care.
- Preoperative nursing
- Operating room preparation
- Circulating nursing
- Surgical assisting and scrub workflow
- Anesthesia workflow
- Instrument and supply preparation
- Sterile-field management
- Patient positioning and preparation
- Surgical documentation

Postoperative Follow-Up Encounters
Surgery does not end when a patient leaves the operating room. Observe how cosmetic surgery patients are evaluated and supported through recovery.
- Incision assessment
- Swelling and bruising evaluation
- Drain management and dressing changes
- Compression garments and wound-care instructions
- Pain and medication discussions
- Patient questions and concerns
- Recognition of normal versus concerning postoperative findings
- Escalation to the surgeon when appropriate
- Follow-up documentation
- Recovery progression
Clinical exposure varies with the actual patients, procedures, and assigned learning experience. Participation is subject to patient authorization, clinical appropriateness, facility policy, and the judgment of the surgical team.
Understand the care.
Understand the documentation.
Follow the documentation process surrounding actual surgical patients under the supervision of the clinical team. Learn how records support continuity of care from preparation through surgery and recovery.

Different roles.
One connected patient journey.
Participants rotate through the actual clinical workflow and learn directly from the experienced professional responsible for that part of the patient's care.
Alongside the Nursing Team
Observe how patients are prepared, records are reviewed, and the team coordinates the details that support a safe surgical day.
Alongside the Surgical Team
Spend time alongside an OR nurse and observe the surgical team to understand communication, sterile conduct, case progression, and anticipated needs.
Alongside the Recovery Team
Follow recovery and discharge workflow, then join postoperative visits to connect the surgical experience with the patient's progress afterward.
Scheduled around real clinical care.
Participants do not attend every day. Attendance is coordinated around Adonis Plastic Surgery's actual surgical and postoperative schedule over approximately four weeks.
A brief required orientation covers patient privacy, facility expectations, safety, sterile-environment conduct, and the structure of the program. The remainder of the education occurs in the clinical setting through supervised observation, discussion, and interaction with the team.
- 4 surgical case experiences
- 8 postoperative follow-up encounters
- Preoperative documentation exposure
- Surgery-day documentation exposure
- Postoperative documentation exposure
- OR workflow shadowing
- Recovery and discharge workflow exposure
For registered nurses exploring surgical care.
This program is designed for RNs who want greater exposure to cosmetic and plastic surgery nursing, whether exploring a new specialty or expanding their existing clinical perspective.
- RNs interested in entering plastic surgery
- Nurses interested in outpatient surgery
- Nurses considering a transition into the operating room
- Nurses working in aesthetics who want surgical exposure
- Perioperative nurses seeking cosmetic surgery experience
- Nurses preparing for opportunities with plastic surgery practices or outpatient surgical facilities
Close to the workflow.
Respectful of patient care.
Operating rooms are not classrooms. Enrollment is intentionally limited so participants can understand what is happening without interfering with patient care or normal surgical operations.
Live surgical and follow-up participation is always subject to patient authorization, clinical appropriateness, facility policy, and the judgment of the surgical team.
Additional facility onboarding requirements may apply before participation in live clinical experiences. This is an observational program; independent patient care is not part of the program.
A record of your clinical immersion.
Participants who successfully complete the required clinical experiences receive a Certificate of Completion for Cosmetic Surgery OR Nursing Clinical Immersion – Level 1, issued by Adonis Plastic Surgery and Ascencion Surgery Center.
The certificate documents completion of the Adonis clinical immersion program. It does not represent board certification, professional licensure, specialty certification, or continuing-education credit unless separately stated.

A few practical questions.
Understand the format, expectations, and scope of the clinical immersion before requesting an upcoming training period.
Will I be performing procedures or providing independent patient care?
This is an observational clinical immersion. Participants shadow experienced professionals and learn through observation and discussion. Independent patient care is not part of the program. Participants do not independently enter or sign patient records unless specifically authorized and credentialed.
Do I need to attend every day for four weeks?
No. Attendance is scheduled around the practice's actual surgical cases and postoperative visits so you can complete the required experiences over approximately four weeks. Coordinate availability with the team before enrollment.
Are there classroom lectures?
There are no traditional classroom days or lengthy lecture series. Participants complete a brief required orientation covering privacy, safety, facility expectations, sterile-environment conduct, and program structure. Education then takes place alongside experienced clinical professionals.
Can I choose the procedures I observe?
Clinical exposure depends on the practice's actual surgical schedule, patient authorization, clinical appropriateness, facility policy, and the surgical team's judgment. A specific procedure mix is not guaranteed.
Does the certificate provide specialty certification or CE credit?
The Certificate of Completion documents completion of this clinical immersion. It does not represent board certification, professional licensure, specialty certification, or continuing-education credit unless separately stated.
