The important questions are where the fullness comes from, how elastic the skin is, whether your weight is reasonably stable, and whether liposuction can address the actual cause of the contour concern.
Localized submental fat
You have a persistent pocket beneath the chin or along the upper neck that remains despite a stable weight, healthy habits, or previous weight loss.
Enough skin elasticity
Skin needs enough ability to redrape over the new contour. Significant laxity can become more obvious if fat is removed without addressing the skin.
Realistic profile goals

A double chin is not always a fat problem.
Fullness beneath the chin can come from superficial fat, loose skin, deeper neck anatomy, a less projecting chin, platysmal bands, or a combination of these. Liposuction is designed to remove accessible fat. It does not reposition loose skin, strengthen chin projection, or correct every structural cause of neck fullness.
That is why skin elasticity and neck anatomy matter. If lax skin is the dominant issue, a facelift or neck-lift approach may produce a better result. If the anatomy sits between simple liposuction and a larger operation, your surgeon may discuss FaceTite or another tightening strategy.

How chin and neck liposuction is performed.
Chin liposuction is usually an outpatient procedure. Depending on the surgical plan, it may be performed with local anesthesia, sedation, or another anesthesia approach selected for the patient and any procedures being combined.
Small access points are commonly placed beneath the chin and, when needed, near natural creases around the lower face or ears. A narrow cannula removes selected fat while the surgeon blends the treatment edges to avoid an abrupt step between the chin, jawline, and neck.

What recovery looks like when the treatment area is visible every day.
The treatment area is relatively small, but swelling and bruising occur in a highly visible part of the body. Many patients can handle light daily activity fairly quickly while the actual jawline contour continues to settle for weeks to months.
Swelling and compression
Swelling, tenderness, tightness, bruising, and temporary numbness are expected. Wear the prescribed chin strap or compression garment according to your instructions.
Light routine returns
Many patients return to desk work or light daily activity within several days, although visible swelling or bruising may still be present.
Jawline becomes clearer
